24-25 February 2011: Constructing European Intellectual Property: Achievements and new perspectives

CEIPI Conference within the Framework of the EIPIN Network

February 24-25, 2011
European Parliament of Strasbourg

On February 24 to 25, 2011, the CEIPI organized a conference at the European Parliament of Strasbourg on the topic: "Constructing European IP law: achievements and new perspectives", coordinated by Christophe Geiger, General Director of the CEIPI, under the high patronage of Mrs Catherine Trautmann, Member of the European Parliament and Alain Beretz, President of the University of Strasburg.

This conference was organized within the context of the 12th EIPIN Congress - European Intellectual Property Institutes Network - whose members are: the CEIPI of the University of Strasburg, the Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute of the University of London, the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC) and the Magister Lucentinus of the University of Alicante.

The creation of a European system of intellectual property rights arises numerous fundamental issues; this conference has the aim to examine the perspectives and opportunities for a factual harmonisation.

With this objective in mind, the CEIPI has gathered a panel of specialists - academics, practitioners and senior officials - from prestigious universities, research institutes, European institutions and offices to share their expertise and contribute to the success of this ambitious project. These specialists will feature a careful revising of the actual European legislative framework in the IP field, accompanied by an analysis on the prospective actions to be taken in order to harmonise the disparate intellectual property laws throughout Europe.

CEIPI is pleased to propose the presentations of the participants to this conference.

You can also watch the videos of the presentations online on the website canalc2 of the University of Strasbourg.
