Created in the recognition of the immense interest among practitioners in consulting theses in the course of their work, the CEIPI / FIDAL Thesis Prize also reflects the deep commitment of the partners to supporting research and contributing to the knowledge and dissemination of French doctrine.
The purpose of this prize is to distinguish a doctoral thesis that makes an important doctrinal contribution to a better understanding of the theoretical aspects and practical issues of the subject in question.
Organized every two years, the prize consists of the publication of the winning thesis in the collection of thesis of the CEIPI, sub-collection “CEIPI / FIDAL Thesis Prize” dedicated to industrial property.
The CEIPI / FIDAL Thesis Prize is awarded as follows:
- Postgraduate thesis of the 3rd cycle, defended between 1st January 2021 and 31st December 2024, and presenting an innovative character and interest for the practice
- Subject: “industrial property law”
- The prize will be awarded every two years.
- The thesis will be selected by a jury made up of members of the Fidal law firm and CEIPI.
- The application file will include:
- a personal letter of application from the candidate;
- the candidate’s CV;
- the official summary of the thesis;
- the report of the thesis panel;
- the full version of the thesis.

The ceremony of the 1st CEIPI / FIDAL Thesis Prize, awarded to Mr. Julien Douillard for his thesis “La privation de la propriété comme sanction de la contrefaçon” (Deprivation of property as a sanction for counterfeiting) took place on 1st March 2024.
