Update modules on the Unified Patent Court

This programme is open to former participants of the Diploma on Patent Litigation in Europe, lawyers practicing in the field of intellectual property and other intellectual property professionals interested in patent litigation and its application.

Prerequisites

A good knowledge of the European Patent Convention and related issues is necessary.

Learning outcomes

The programme will allow participants to understand the institutional functioning of the UPC, the rules of procedure and the solutions available to the parties.

2023 edition:
The 2023 session took place in a hybrid format between March and May 2023.

2022 edition:
The 2022 session took place in a hybrid format between March and May 2022.

2021 edition:
The two modules session was held solely online in March and April 2021.

2020 edition:
In March and April 2020 CEIPI organized remotely the  training programme exclusively dedicated to the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

2019 edition:
In April 2019 CEIPI organized in Strasbourg the second training programme exclusively dedicated to the Unified Patent Court (JUB).
Speakers for the 2019 edition: Alexander Ramsay, Klaus Grabinski, Kevin Mooney, Sam Granata, Beate Schmidt, Pierre Véron, Laurence Brüning-Petit, Thierry Debled, Stefan Luginbühl and Sapna Kumar.

2018 edition:
The first update session on the Unified Patent Court organized by CEIPI took place at the premises of the University of Strasbourg on March 9 and 10, 2018 and on April 13 and 14, 2018.
During four days the participants had the opportunity to study the various institutional aspects of the Unified Patent Court and they were able to meet some of the most important figures in this field.
Among the speakers were present: Alexander Ramsay, Sam Granata, Beate Schmidt, Kevin Mooney, Thierry Debled, Christophe Geiger, Laurence Brüning-Petit, Pierre Véron, Max Brunner, Clement Salung Petersen and Klaus Grabinski.

Course material

Teaching and reading material is made available on the internal online platform of the training.

Type of training and certification

An attestation of completion shall be delivered upon full attendance of the participant to the training.

Registration fees

1 900€ for former CEIPI students who have validated their Diploma on Patent litigation in Europe (reduced price as part of an update of their diploma)

2 150€ public price

The European patent attorneys who will follow this training will have a financial support from the CNCPI.

Hybrid: the training is available on site in Strasbourg as well as remotely
