26th European tutors’ meeting of the international section of the CEIPI

On 28 and 29 May 2015, the international section of the CEIPI will organize the 26th annual meeting of its tutors teaching on the basic training courses in European Patent Law and on the preparation courses for the European Qualifying Examination. Approximately 80 specialists in European Patent law, coming from several European countries, will participate in this meeting to share their experience and to attend various presentations on European Patent Law:

Laurence Brüning-Petit, lawyer for patent law at the European patent office (EPO), will report on witnesses’ hearing in oral proceedings before the EPO. Derk Visser, European patent attorneyand CEIPI tutor, author of the «Annotated European Patent Convention», will give an updated overview of recent EPO case law.

Quan-Ling Sim, head of PCT outreach and user relations section of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will present PCT updates.

Xavier Seuba, senior lecturer and researcher at the CEIPI and project coordinator CEIPI-BETA, will focus on the forthcoming CEIPI training of the technically qualified judges of the Unified Patent Court. Théo Hassler, professor at the CEIPI, will give an introduction to plant breeders’ right.

The meeting will be chaired by Thierry Debled, director of the international section of the CEIPI and associate professor, and Christophe Geiger, director general of the CEIPI.
