Objectives
The "Intellectual Property Law and Management" course is offered as a continuing education program, and is aimed at professionals who wish to diversify their core business of acquiring titles (patents, trademarks, designs) and managing intellectual property portfolios. It is also designed to provide company managers with the intellectual property management skills that their previous studies have not provided. The objectives in terms of knowledge are as follows:
- To master industrial property rights for the various professions at the crossroads of this law and corporate management and strategy,
- Provide company executives with fundamental knowledge of industrial property management, the implementation of new technologies, technology management, innovation management, innovation financing, securitization of intellectual property rights, etc.
Students will gain an understanding of business strategies and markets. They will understand the economic environment and the factors influencing and mastering the development of business-based strategies for intellectual property rights.
Since the 2024-2025 academic year, students also follow 3 additional modules co-developed with the EPO on key intellectual property topics:
- IP for SMEs and start-ups,
- IP in digital technologies, and
- IP in corporate sustainability
The aim is to train top-level specialists in the management of intellectual property rights, able to grasp :
- research and development, study and design,
- methods and industrialization,
- industrial property - standardization,
- evaluation and valuation of intangible assets.
Career opportunities lie not only with industrial property attorneys or European Patent Attorneys, but also in industry, banking, insurance, transport, international organizations, and organizations or services promoting the development of SMEs in the private and public sectors, in finance and the economy.
On completion of the course, students will be able to move up the corporate ladder, contribute their skills to corporate financial management by evaluating intangible assets, and provide new advice to clients of IP consultancies and specialized law firms

Mandatory prerequisites
Only candidates with an M1 in science, private law, economics or management can be admitted to this specialization. The program is open to European Patent Attorneys and national patent attorneys, industry specialists, lawyers and experts specializing in this sector. All must have at least 3 years' professional experience in intellectual property law.
They must also have a good knowledge of English. Foreign students, whether or not they are nationals of the European Union, must meet the same conditions as those listed above.
Tuition fees 2025-2026
- Continuing education only: 7 500€ (including university fees)
This course is eligible for CPF funding.
- Fees for re-registration in the diploma: 2 550€ (including university fees)
This training does not allow scolarship nor grants.

Defense of a thesis
The thesis must be on one of the teaching subjects. The choice of subject is subject to the approval of the professor(s) responsible for the degree. The thesis is defended before a jury. The defense includes a brief presentation of the work by the candidate, followed by a discussion on the theme of the thesis. The thesis is graded out of 20.
