As part of the international intellectual property and innovation ecosystem, CEIPI is pleased to support the call for nominations for the European Inventor Award 2026.
Launched by the European Patent Office (EPO) in 2006, the Award celebrates individuals and teams who turn breakthrough ideas into real-world solutions, tackling some of today’s biggest challenges. It recognises not only the inventive spirit but also the role of the European patent system in supporting innovation, creativity, and progress.
Inventors must have a granted European patent and show commercialisation in Europe.
Categories include:
- Industry – For inventors at large European companies.
- Research – For innovators at universities or research institutions. Non-EPO Countries – For inventors outside EPO member states with inventions available in Europe.
- SMEs – For inventors at small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Lifetime Achievement – Honouring a career of landmark patented inventions.
- Popular Prize – Voted by the public once finalists are announced.
