CEIPI will celebrate World Intellectual Property Day with an online conference on "Intellectual Property and Pop Culture"

The Research Laboratory of the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) organises an online conference on the theme: "Intellectual Property and Pop Culture", on 26 April 2021, in the framework of World Intellectual Property Day 2021.

CEIPI being one of the precursors in the exploration of the topic, this conference will be the third edition of its kind. Indeed, the first edition, which took place in 2018, was followed by the publication of the book "Intellectual Property and Pop Culture, New issues, new challenges - Proceedings of the JUSPI conference, LexisNexis, June 2020".

As a major issue in today's cultural economy, pop culture challenges the law and, more particularly, intellectual property. Through this event, CEIPI would like to contribute to the broader debate on IP issues affecting the creative industries and the challenges arising in this particular context. To this effect, the conference “Intellectual Property and Pop culture” will be organized in “episodes” that will address the subject from three different perspectives: the objects of protection, the models of protection and the infringements.

The conference will be held in French with simultaneous interpretation into English.

Registration to the conference is free but compulsory on this link.

This event is held under the scientific direction of Mr. Yann Basire, Associate Professor and Director General of CEIPI, University of Strasbourg.
