CEIPI organized the National Moot Court Competition in Intellectual Property

From March 20 to 22, 2013, CEIPI organized the 5th edition of the National Moot Court Competition in Intellectual Property.

This competition is open to studentsin Masters of Laws 2 (LLM) at national level preparing for career in intellectual property.he CEIPI congratulates all the participants from 12 Universities who came to Strasbourg, and specially the following students:

- Winning team studying in M2 Innovation, Communication and Culture Law at Paris XI-Sud University: Anna Miquel, Etienne Mangeot et Abed Zerrouki
- Finalist team studying in M2 Business Law / Intellectual Property Law at Lille 2 University: Camille de Lambilly, Clara Maidi et Pauline Galan
- Semi-Finalists, third ex-aequo teams studying in M2 Intellectual and Industrial Property Law at Paris II University: Chloé Laboudie, Clémence Personne et Laetitia Nicolazzi; and M2 Intellectual Property law and Valuation of Intangible Assets at CEIPI: Marion Perruche, Thimothée Widiez et Laura Montariol
- Kévin Marcachi studying in M2 Intangible Creations and Law at Montpellier University, elected best individual litigant
- the team studying in M2 Intellectual Property and New Technologies at Aix-Marseille University (Céline Vaiarello, Aude Maurin et Maud Habert) receiving a special fair-play award.

We are also happy about the performance of the second CEIPI team (Marie Douzal, Hamza Morsad) because they made it to the Quarter-Final.

On the last day of the moot a conference on the ECJ case-law related to Intellectual Property was held. The panel included members of the Research department of the CEIPI (Stéphanie Carre, Franck Macrez and Adrien Bouvel, Associate Professors and Professor Jean Lapousterle) and some distinguished external speakers: Gilles Vercken, barrister and Associate Professor at Sciences-Po, and Emmanuel Py, Associate Professor at the Haute-Alsace university, Lecturer at the CEIPI in patent law. This conference covered a diversity of IP subjects: copyright, software law, trademarks, patents, design law. The proceedings were moderated by Professor Valérie-Laure Benabou, Professor André Lucas and Christophe Geiger, Associate Professor, Director General and Director of the Research Department at the CEIPI.
