Agreement with OHIM and EPO for the set-up of the “Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme”

The CEIPI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the OHIM and the EPO for the establishment of the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship Programme.

The signing ceremony took place during the last Administrative Board of CEIPI, on 19th December 2014, in Strasbourg, in the presence of Mr. António Campinos, President of the Office for the Harmonization  in the Internal Market (OHIM) and President of the CEIPI’s Administrative Board, Mr. François-Régis Hannart, Principal Director of the  European and International Cooperation  of the European Patent Office (EPO), representing Benoît Battistelli, President of the EPO, Mr. Alain Beretz, President of the University of Strasbourg and M. Christophe Geiger, Director General of CEIPI.

The aim of the program is to bring closer the universities and the job market, quite specific for intellectual property. Thanks to this program, the best young graduates of the CEIPI and of the other partners can access to one-year paid internships within OHIM and EPO. Each year, the Pan European-Seal will offer 100 internships administrated by both offices (number of position open by offices to be determined each year).

The programme is promoted in common by the two biggest Office of Intellectual Property worldwide, the Office for the Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) and the European Patent Office (EPO), in collaboration with the strategic partners of the EIPIN network:

- CEIPI

- Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute, University of London

- Intellectual Property Law and Knowledge Management (IPKM), Maastricht University

- Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC).
