“Adapting Copyright to the Digital Environment in the EU: the impossible reform?”, Round table organized by the CEIPI and the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art

The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies of the University of Strasbourg organizes in partnership with the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art a round table on the topic “Adapting Copyright to the Digital Environment in the EU: the impossible reform?”.

The round table will take place on Thursday 14 February 2019, 17h00-18h30, at the Café of the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art, Hôtel des Postes (entrance Rue Wencker, 67000 Strasbourg) within the framework of the Biennale dedicated to the citizen in the digital world (https://biennale-strasbourg.eu/touch-me/) and consists of a free discussion involving artists, MEPs, political advisers and academics on the future of copyright in the online world.

Introduction to the round table:

- Yasmina Khouaidjia, Commissioner of the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art, and Christophe Geiger, Professor at the University of Strasbourg, Director General and Director of the CEIPI Research Department.

Speakers:

  •  Florian Mehnert, Artist and exhibitor at the Strasbourg Biennale of Contemporary Art
  • Julia Reda, Member of the European Parliament
  • Anne-Catherine Lorrain, Legal and Policy Advisor of the “Greens/EFA” in the European Parliament on issues relating to intellectual property
  • Michel Vivant, Professor at the Sciences Po, Paris and at CEIPI
  • Giancarlo Frosio, Senior Researcher at CEIPI.

The round table will be chaired by Christophe Geiger, Professor at the University of Strasbourg, Director General and Director of the CEIPI Research Department.
