The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg is pleased to organize a conference on the topic “Artificial Intelligence, Innovation and Intellectual Properties”. This conference, which is held under the high patronage of the Parliamentary Office for Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Assessment (OPECST) and Senator Ronan Le Gleut, will take place on 7 November 2019 (14h00-18h30, Salle Clemenceau) at Luxembourg Palace, Paris.

The conference aims to present the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence and to confront them to the questions related to intellectual property rights. Thus, the concrete applications of artificial intelligence will be presented in the main industrial sectors. These learning algorithms which pose difficulties of apprehension by the Law, the questions concerning the intellectual property rights (patent, copyright) will be dealt, from the point of view of the artificial intelligence systems themselves, in terms of the results they produce, as well as the protection of the data themselves that feed these systems.

The legal and political issues presented will be of interest to policy makers, legal practitioners (lawyers, industrial property attorneys, corporate lawyers ...), law students, as well as every professional operating in the artificial intelligence sector (decision-maker, operational ...).

This event is held under the scientific supervision of Mr. Franck Macrez, Associate Professor at CEIPI, University of Strasbourg.
