New training programme at CEIPI: Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree of Intellectual Property and Data Law (MIPDaL)

The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg is pleased to announce the opening of a new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree of Intellectual Property and Data Law (MIPDaL), a one-year international study programme designed to prepare students for a dynamic career in the field of intellectual property and data law.

This unique programme is offered in collaboration with prestigious European universities, including:

  • Institute of International Law, Intellectual Property Law and Technology Law (IRGET), Technical University of Dresden (Germany), coordinator
  • Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia
  • Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain
  • Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom
  • University of Exeter, United Kingdom
  • University of Strasbourg, Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI), France.

The programme is supported by a number of associated partners involved in MIPDaL in various ways, e. g. by participating in teaching as guest lecturers in the academic programme, or by offering internships to the students.

Associated partners include European and national intellectual property offices such as the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO) or the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) as well as national IP associations such as the French group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR). Other local law firms, business associations like UNIFAB and counsels are also involved in MIPDaL.

Three tracks are available as part of this programme:

  • Creative Industries: to explore the intersection of law and creativity, focusing on copyright, trademarks and the protection of creative works.
  • Industrial Property Law: to study the legal frameworks surrounding patents, designs and industrial innovations - essential knowledge for businesses and inventors.
  • Information and Data Technology Law: this track provides knowledge of data protection, privacy laws and the legal implications of technology in the digital age.

Application deadline

  • For all scholarship holders and early birds, the application deadline is 15 January 2025.
  • All other applicants will be able to apply until 15 March 2025.
  • Late applications will be accepted between 15 April and 15 June 2025.
