Christophe Geiger, Director General of CEIPI, and Xavier Seuba, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at CEIPI, Academic Coordinator and Judicial Training Manager, will participate next June 15 in the conference The Global Debate on Intellectual Property, Trade and Development: Past, Present and Future, aConference in Honour of Pedro Roffe, organized by University of Minnesota Law School in cooperation with The Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva and the Centre for International Governance Innovation.
This conference will pay tribute to the seminal contributions of Pedro Roffe to international cooperation and diplomacy in the fields of intellectual property, trade and development. Most of all, it will pay tribute to his quest for a balanced dialogue on intellectual property rights, public policy and development. Leading academics, diplomats and policy makers will gather to reflect intently on a range of issues at the intersection of trade, technology and innovation. The conference agenda addresses contemporary challenges in intellectual property, trade and innovation policy, with attention to policy levers conducive to forging new institutional platforms that are better equipped to deal with the multifaceted dynamics of the modern global regulatory and economic order.
The topic of Mr Geiger's presentation will be : "Courts as new norm setting entities in the field of intellectual property: the European Example".
Xavier Seuba will use this opportunity to present, for the first time, his forthcoming book on The Global Regime for the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights, to be released next August 2017.
