Mr. Leonardo Machado Pontes won the 1st prize of the annual ECTA award competition

The CEIPI has the pleasure to announce that Mr. Leonardo Machado Pontes, PhD student at CEIPI, under the supervision of Prof. Christophe Geiger, won the 1st prize of the annual ECTA award competition 2017, in the “student” category for his paper “Commercial Trade Mark Parodies”.

ECTA, the European Communities Trade Mark Association, was formed in 1980. ECTA numbers approximately 1.500 members, coming from all Member States of the European Union with associate members from all over the world.

In order to strengthen the cooperation and exchange with academics, ECTA has decided to grant an Award to an individual who has written an article or an essay of importance for the development of European Trade mark law.

The award ceremony took place on the 30 June 2017 in Budapest, during the ECTA Annual Conference.
