Conference CEIPI-CASRIP “Latest developments in Patent Litigation in Europe and the US: Perspectives from the Judiciary”

The CEIPI, will organize in collaboration with CASRIP a public conference on Friday March 27, 2015, headed with “Latest developments in Patent Litigation in Europe and the US: Perspectives from the Judiciary”, which will take place at the Palais universitaire de Strasbourg, hall Pasteur.

This conference will gather judges from various jurisdictions specialized in IP litigation: Former Chief Judge Randall Rader, US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; Judge Maud Gräfin von Keyserlingk, Munich Court of Appeal; Judge Gabriella Muscolo, Former Judge in the Court of Rome, Member of the Enlarged Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO); Member of the High Italian Authority for Competition and Trust; Alain Girardet, Counsellor at the First Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of France.

Moreover, Mr. Pierre Véron, Attorney-at-Law specialized in IP and Member of the “Legal Working Group of the Preparatory Committee on the Rules of Procedure for the Unified Patent Court” will give a presentation about the last conclusions of the Preparatory Committee. Mr. Christophe Geiger, Director General of CEIPI, will discuss the complex interaction of the CJEU with the Unified Patent Court and Mr. Xavier Seuba, Associate Professor and Member of the Research Laboratory of CEIPI, will present the Training of the Judges of the Unified Patent Court and the implications of having technical judges.
