Natasha Mangal winner of the EPIP Young Scholar Award in Law 2021

Natasha Mangal, CEIPI PhD researcher affiliated with the EIPIN Innovation Society, is this year's winner of the EPIP Young Scholar Award in Law 2021! The European Policy for Intellectual Property (EPIP) Conference took place in Madrid, Spain from the 8-10th September 2021, in partnership with the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Each year, the EPIP conference draws a diverse set of internationally-renowned academics and practitioners intererested in the economic, managerial, and legal aspects of IP law.

Natasha’s paper, titled "Optimizing Copyright Regulation in the EU for the Digital Single Market: Institutional Perspectives on Reform", examines the limitations of current regulatory strategies in balancing public and private interests in the online environment. It also proposes new institutional arrangements for regulating copyright, particularly in light of Article 17 of the Digital Single Market Directive. After a peer review process and the decision of the EPIP Board, her paper was selected as the best submission of the PhD student category in law.

On behalf of the CEIPI team, we extend our congratulations!
