The Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies is pleased to announce that Mr. Franck Macrez, Associate Professor at the University of Strasbourg, has been appointed Director of the Research Laboratory during the last meeting of the Administrative Board of CEIPI which took place in November 2020. Mr. Macrez assumed the position on 1 January 2021, following the resignation of the previous Director, Professor Christophe Geiger, before the end of his mandate. The CEIPI team wishes to thank him for the work accomplished since 2009.
Franck Macrez has been a member of the CEIPI team since 2008. In a personal capacity, he carries out research in the field of legal science with the aim of critically analysing the evolution of intellectual property rights, in particular under the influence of the development of the technoscientific phenomenon. He co-directs the university diplomas "Patent litigation in Europe" (with Emmanuel Gougé) and "Artificial intelligence and intellectual property" (with Jean-Marc Deltorn) and is in charge of the direction of studies for the Masters.
The entire CEIPI team warmly congratulates Mr. Macrez on his appointment and wishes him the greatest success at the head of the CEIPI Research Laboratory.
