Tribute to Maître Gaultier

It is with great sadness that CEIPI was informed of the passing away of Mr Geoffroy Gaultier, honorary lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal and Knight of the Legion of Honour.

Mr. Gaultier was an emblematic lawyer, whose competence, evolving with progress, customs, laws and court decisions, was recognized. He had a profound impact on the world of intellectual property both in France and overseas by being actively involved in the evolution of the profession. He was President of the French Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AFPPI) and Honorary President of the French group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

Mr. Gaultier was a long-time lecturer at the CEIPI, notably giving seminars on the Paris Convention and on infringement action. Many generations of students have thus had the opportunity to benefit from his teachings and to partake in his high standards approach on a subject that he incarnated.

CEIPI pays tribute to Maître Geoffroy Gaultier, who passed away on June 2 at the age of 94, and expresses its most heartfelt condolences to his family.
