CEIPI, partner of the Erasmus+ project “New skills to face the risks of counterfeiting in consumer goods for children (CounterRisk)”

CEIPI is pleased to announce that we are one of the partners of the Erasmus+ project (Strategic Partnerships for vocational education and training), project called “New skills to face the risks of counterfeiting in consumer goods for children (CounterRisk)”, under the coordination of the association AIJU (Technological Institute for children’s product and leisure), in Spain.

This project starts from the conclusion that the increasing production and distribution of dangerous counterfeits has been a recurrent topic raised by enforcement authorities, right holders and other private sector representatives, associations and federations. Business manufactures involved in the production of goods that intendedly infringe intellectual property rights are not concerned about the quality, and what is more, the safety of their products. They could contain substances or components that do not meet European safety requirements and therefore show potentially dangerous risks for consumers health and safety.

The challenge of CounterRisk is to help companies solve the main problems derived from counterfeit in the sector of children’s products, especially focused on health and economic ones. CounterRisk aims at generating new and improving the current knowledge about counterfeiting and their associated side-effects for companies and consumers, and even public administrations.

The role of the CEIPI for this project will be to develop training material on intellectual property for basic training content intended for workers of SMEs’ and consumer associations. This material will be integrated in two online training tools, called NOOC. These tools will integrate innovative learning elements such us augmented reality and gamification using tokens.

The project started in December 2020, for an estimated duration of 28 months.
