CEIPI team at the EIPIN Congress on the topic "The New Data Economy between Data Ownership, Privacy and Safeguarding Competition" and at its doctoral seminar, EPO/ Max Planck Institute, Munich, Germany

The 18th EIPIN Congress on the topic “The New Data Economy between Data Ownership, Privacy and Safeguarding Competition” will take place from 6 to 8 April 2017 at the European Patent Office and the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, Munich, Germany.

Xavier Seuba, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at CEIPI, will chair and comment the panel titled: “Should We ‘Own’ Our Data? - Economic Rights in Personal Data?”.  Ten selected CEIPI’s students will participate in this congress, which involves an upstream research work and the preparation of a collective paper within a team of students from the partner institutes.

Le congress is preceded by the EIPN doctoral seminar, from 5 to 6 April at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, where two doctoral candidates at CEIPI will present their research: Oleksandr Bulayenko: “Multi-Territorial Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights in the EU: Overcoming Fragmentation of Rights’ Exercise in the Single Market” and Luc Desaunettes: “The Legal Protection of Trade Secrets”.
