This training is open to former participants of the CEIPI University Diploma in Patent Litigation in Europe, patent attorneys, lawyers specializing in patent law, and other intellectual property professionals interested in patent litigation and its implementation.

The programme will provide participants with the latest developments and preparations for the implementation of the Unified Patent Court and the unitary patent. The content will allow participants to understand the institutional framework of the UPC, the Rules of Procedure, and the available legal remedies. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with key stakeholders involved in the regulatory and implementation processes of the UPC.

A Doctor of Law and recognized specialist in industrial property, particularly trademark law, Yann Basire has contributed significantly to the development of research in this field. Author of numerous publications, scientific director of JurisClasseur Marques – Dessins et Modèles (LexisNexis) and founder of the RFPI - Revue Francophone de la Propriété Intellectuelle, he has been working for several years to promote rigorous and open scientific reflection, particularly through his work on the “Law and Pop Culture” movement.

Director of CEIPI since 2019, he has accompanied the Center's evolution, supported the development of its training programs, and encouraged new scientific initiatives, particularly through the organization of high-level events and conferences. His constant commitment contributes to CEIPI's dynamism and its influence within the academic and professional community.

His appointment as Professor recognizes the quality of his academic commitment, his contribution to the discipline, and his work on behalf of students, research, and our Center.

Conference Proceedings: Formes, motifs, positions, couleurs. Les marques non-traditionnelles en question

Trademark registrations remain largely dominated by word and figurative marks, but there is a real and growing interest in non-traditional marks.

Based on a conference organized at the National Assembly, this book examines in detail the difficulties encountered by these atypical trademarks. It addresses both the examination of their distinctiveness and the conditions under which this distinctiveness can be acquired through use, particularly in the case of three-dimensional trademarks, position trademarks, pattern trademarks, and color trademarks. It also deals with the issue of their genuine use.

The project “AI-Driven Training System on Product Safety for Professionals - AI4ProSa” aims to contribute to the improvement and updating of the skills of SME professionals, future professionals and teachers in vocational training centers with regard to the requirements and obligations established by the European Union in the field of product safety. This project will help them acquire new skills and enable them to integrate the advantages of generative artificial intelligence (AI) into their training and work.

Le CEIPI a eu l'honneur de recevoir Mme Nathalie Goulet, Sénatrice de l'Orne, pour une conférence passionnante sur « L'argent du terrorisme » le vendredi 14 novembre. Elle était accompagnée de M. André Reichardt, ancien Sénateur du Bas-Rhin.

Mme la Sénatrice, à partir de son ouvrage éponyme, a dressé un état des lieux crucial des circuits de financement du terrorisme. Devant nos étudiants, elle a notamment mis en lumière l'impact massif de la contrefaçon dans ces mécanismes de financement illicites.

Le CEIPI tient à remercier chaleureusement Mme Nathalie Goulet et M. André Reichardt pour la richesse de cette intervention et les échanges constructifs qui ont suivi.

Résumé de l’ouvrage « L’argent du terrorisme »  : Vous pensiez que seules les activités illégales alimentaient les réseaux terroristes ? Derrière des activités en apparence anodines - l'achat d'un bien immobilier, les cagnottes en ligne, un investissement financier ou même l'acquisition d'un objet d'art - peut se cacher le financement de projets meurtriers. Face à cette menace diffuse et opportuniste, une lutte acharnée s'impose contre la fraude, l'évasion fiscale et le blanchiment. Mais alors que les voies de financement du terrorisme n'ont de cesse de se renouveler et de se complexifier, il est de plus en plus difficile d'endiguer ce phénomène. Cette nouvelle édition de l'enquête de Nathalie Goulet, actualisée et enrichie, dresse un état des lieux complet des stratagèmes employés et des contre-mesures possibles. Un ouvrage indispensable pour comprendre les arcanes du financement du terrorisme et mieux le combattre.

L’événement réunira professionnels, universitaires et institutionnels autour de tables rondes consacrées aux grandes problématiques du secteur : intelligence artificielle, financement des œuvres, statut des créateurs, diffusion transmédia, et bien d’autres.

Cette journée vise à offrir une plateforme de réflexion interdisciplinaire, mêlant approches pratiques et académiques, dans une industrie en constante évolution.

Scholarships awarded by the European Commission are also available for 12 students per year, amounting to 1 400 € per month. Students receiving an Erasmus Mundus scholarship are exempted from paying the enrollment fees and the top-up fee.

The ATT, which brings together four technopoles and five competitiveness clusters, is a key player in the development, innovation and promotion of the technopole system, both in Tunisia and internationally. As a central pillar of the Tunisian technopole ecosystem, its mission is to promote innovation and the commercialisation of applied research. The ATT is leading the IPRIAT project (IP management and promotion entity), funded by a local grant supported by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and implemented by GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation) as part of the Qualitative Growth for Employment (CQE) project. Also supported by the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy (MIME), this project aims to create sustainable services for the management and promotion of intellectual property assets in Tunisia.

This meeting, organised under the coordination of the European Institute for Enterprise and Intellectual Property (IEEPI) and Ms Anne Grouselle, Director General of the IEEPI, provided an opportunity to present the center’s training courses and research activities, while promoting an enriching exchange of best practices. This exchange highlighted the expertise of both entities, paving the way for future collaboration. The aim was to strengthen synergies and explore new avenues for supporting innovation and intellectual property management as part of Tunisia’s technopole development.

The agreement was signed on 11 September 2025, during an official ceremony in Guangzhou, in the presence of Mr. Yann BASIRE, Director General of CEIPI, Prof. Guo Zongjie, Dean of the Faculty of Law/Faculty of Intellectual Property at Jinan University, Prof. WU Xinwang, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law/Faculty of Intellectual Property, Mr. DAI Zhe, Director of the Intellectual Property Department, Ms. HAN Siyan, Secretary for International Affairs of the Faculty of Law at Jinan University, and Ms. WEN Yingyi, Administrative Secretary for Intellectual Property.

Founded in 1906, Jinan University is one of the oldest universities in China and is part of the 211 Program, as one of the key universities in China. It welcomes ~48,000 students per year and was the first university in China to recruit foreign students.

This agreement marks the beginning of a series of collaborative initiatives, including student mobility, faculty exchanges, the development of joint training programs, and the organization of international seminars and conferences.

The aim is to promote a better understanding of international intellectual property issues, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and stimulate the training of future experts, lawyers, and researchers in this strategic field.

Established in 2018, this award aims to reward the exceptional and ongoing commitment of University staff to teaching, based on concrete actions carried out over the last four years.

Focus PI - Propriété littéraire et artistique est un cycle annuel de formation continue en droit d’auteur et droits voisins. Cette formation s’adresse aux avocats, aux juristes d’entreprise, aux personnels des organismes de gestion collective, aux magistrats et, plus largement, à toute personne amenée à pratiquer le droit de la propriété littéraire et artistique dans son exercice professionnel.

Dispensée sous forme de webinaires mensuels d’une durée de 2 heures tous les premiers jeudis de chaque mois, cette formation a vocation à permettre aux professionnels du droit de la propriété intellectuelle, et spécialement en droit d’auteur, de monter en compétence sur des thématiques adaptées à leur pratique professionnelle. The French legislator was one of the first EU countries to introduce specific protection for industrial or artisanal products (Hamon law of 18 March 2014).

Almost ten years on, Regulation (EU) No 2023/2411 on the registration, protection and control of geographical indications (GIs) for industrial and artisanal products promises standardisation by introducing a European Union title that will be protected on the territory of EU Member States.

Directed by Romain Bouniol and Sylvain Chatry, with a preface by João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO, the book measures the standardisation promised by the EU in the light of existing national provisions.

Since it was founded in 1898 as Germany’s first business school, the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management (HHL) has provided top-level management training. HHL was the first private business school in the German-speaking region to be accredited by AACSB International.

HHL offers a part-time MBA program tailored to highly motivated professionals and executives with initial professional experience. The program has a strong international focus and uses an innovative and integrated approach to develop leadership and management skills.

Under the leadership of Prof. Alexander WURZER, Head of studies of the MIPLM program, the CEIPI and the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management have established a collaboration to expand the educational activities of both partners in the field of intellectual property management, by combining the existing MIPLM program with HHL’s part-time MBA program, allowing students to obtain an MBA degree with a specialization in intellectual property management.

The signing of the agreement took place on 19 June 2025 in Strasbourg, in the presence of Prof. Kelvin W. WILLOUGHBY, Professor & Chairholder Stiftungsfonds Deutsche Bank Chair of Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, the scientific coordinator of the MBA, Ms Omolade ADEYEMI, Research Assistant for the MBA program at HHL, Mr. Yann BASIRE, Director General of CEIPI and members of the CEIPI management team, in particular Mr. Thibaud LELONG, Head of teaching of MIPLM courses and Ms Julie DAGHER, Research Assistant at CEIPI.
