Renewal of the Cooperation Agreement with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), 14 July 2026, Geneva

The Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg had the honor of renewing its cooperation agreement with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The agreement was signed in Geneva on 14 July 2026, during the WIPO General Assemblies, in the presence of Mr. Daren Tang, Director General of WIPO, Mr. Yann Basire, Director General of CEIPI, Mr. Hasan Kleib, Deputy Director General for Regional and National Development Sector, Ms. Beatriz Amorim-Borher, Senior Director of the Department for Development Cooperation, Mr. Hongbing Chen, Principal Director of the WIPO Academy, Mr. Mohamed Abderraouf Bdioui, Senior Counsellor at the WIPO Academy, Mr. Victor Owade, Counsellor, Academic Institutions and Executive Program, WIPO Academy, Regional and National Development Sector, and Ms. Ionela Asandulesei, Head of International Relations at CEIPI.

This meeting also provided an opportunity to explore various areas of focus in order to establish a specific action plan for the coming years. For example, discussions focused on strengthened collaboration in training, the advancement of research in the field of intellectual property, artificial intelligence, the valuation of intellectual property assets, and the need to make intellectual property a key issue not only for policymakers but also for the general public.
